The Secretariat of the Human Rights Council presents its compliments to the
Permanent Missions to the United Nations Office at Geneva, international
organizations or their offices, national human rights institutions, non-
governmental organizations and other human rights bodies, and with
reference to the note dated 20 May 2020 circulating the attached letter from
the President of the Human Rights Council, has the honour to provide further
information on the modalities for registration and participation for the virtual
briefing to be held on Wednesday, 27 May, at 4 p.m.
Representatives wishing to participate in this virtual briefing need to register
via the following link : https://indico.un.org/event/34519
The registration will open on Friday, 22 May at 10 a.m. and will remain open
until 1 p.m. on Tuesday 26 May in order to allow the Secretariat to process the
registrations. The briefing will not be webcast.
T he following modalities will apply:
The briefing is going to be held via the online platform Zoom.
The representatives who have been registered through Indico will receive an
email from UNOG, with a link and instructions on how to join the virtual
platform. Since the number of participants is limited, the invitations will be sent
to a maximum of two persons per delegation;
Participants will be kindly asked to click the link and join the meeting at 3:30
UNOG will provide a technical briefing for participants directly on the online
platform at 3:45 p.m.;
The President will open the briefing at 4 p.m.;
Interpretation will not be provided;
Technical problems or questions related to registration should be sent to the
Secretariat at email@example.com(for Member States, observer States and
international organizations) and at firstname.lastname@example.org (for NGOs)
Representatives from the Permanent Missions in Geneva wishing to take the
floor during the virtual briefing can do so by pressing the “raise hand” button
on the bottom of their screen. Representatives from NGOs in consultative
status with ECOSOC are kindly invited to indicate their intention to take the
floor to email@example.com by Tuesday, 26 May at 6 p.m.
