Human Rights Training With De Brug – Part 3

On Friday 26 June, de Brug Migranten voor mensenrechten held its third and final capacity building training on Basic Tools for Operating in the Human Rights Field. This third session was more specific and focused on project cycle management in the human rights field. Divided in two sections, the first section was conducted by Mr. Nizaad Bissumbhar, Board Secretary of GHRD. He focused on project planning and writing proposals. His presentation was followed up by Ms. Anna Innocenti, Project Manager at GHRD who emphasized on the practical components of project cycle management. The second section of the day was a lecture by Mr. Wim Monasso,, International Consultant at Filad: Philanthropy & Advice, who focused on the subject of fundraising. He shared very important information on possibilities of fundraising in the Netherlands for organisations and their projects.

This last training provided excellent opportunities to the participants to learn more about how to proceed in practice in the field of human rights work and what the possibilities are in terms of working with De Brug network.

This third lesson signifies a switch in approaches used by GHRD on De Brug. The initial top-down approach of De Brug (which was necessary to give it a start) is making room for a bottom-up approach where members can decide its direction and scope. Participants were invited to share their hopes and visions on the future of De Brug, how it should be structured and how it will operate.
