A delegation of Human Rights Groups met with the President of India in order to stop atrocities on Bangladeshi minorities

A 15 member delegate team representing NGOs and organisations that work with Hindus from the USA, France, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Canada, India and Bangladesh 

During the 40 minute meeting, the President heard of experiences from all the delegates. The delegates requested that the President takes special consideration to protect religious minorities in Bangladesh. All delegates appealed to the President of India to take action in protecting religious minorities in Bangladesh.met with Shri Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, at Rashtrapti Bhavan, New Delhi on 21 April, 2014. A representative, Rabindra Ghosh, from our partner organization Bangladesh Minority Watch (BDMW) took the opportunity to attend this significant event.

The President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee assured the delegation that he would convey their reports to the Office of the Prime Minister of India, so that the government may take appropriate action to ensure the interest of Bangladesh minorities in its true terms.

Advocate Rabindra Ghosh from BDMW presented the President of India a book containing a fact-finding report showing the continuous atrocities, torture, abduction, eviction, rape, murder of Bangladeshi Hindus and other minorities between 2011-2014.

The delegation team expressed their pleasure and satisfaction with the warm hospitality at the end of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
