Bangladesh: GHRD observer met with the Chairman of Bangladesh Law Commission


September 3. GHRD’s observer, Rabindra Ghosh, and his colleagues met with Mr. Justice Md. Abdur Rashid, the chairman of Bangladesh Law Commission, and his associates.

They discussed an agenda concerning recommendations for enactments on different laws regarding repeal of vested property law, advantages and disadvantages of amendment of Hindu inheritance law and the present situation for minorities in Bangladesh. 

According to Mr. Gosh the meeting with the Chairman and his colleagues was rewarding and amicable. Rashid assured GHRD that that none of the laws will be framed or amended without the consultation of the minority communities in Bangladesh.
