Celebration International Women’s Day 2010 in India

Jabala Action Research Organisation will organise an IWD event themed: ‘Violence Against Women’. The objective of this event will be to raise community awareness on violence against women and demand a safe & equal world for women. Among the activities planned for the celebrations is a bicycle rally for women, and a theatre show highlighting gender biases. 

Rahi MP, Human Rights Law network and Anupma Education Society – Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh 

The aim will be to create awareness among women and girls on the social construction of gender based violence and how this should be fought in all spheres of social structure. Activities organised to celebrate IWD will include a drawing competition for girls under the theme of gender based violence. This will be held on 5th March. On 8th March, a film will be screened, followed by the award presentation for the drawing competition.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Sevabhavi Sanstha - Maharastra

Netaji is aiming to organise the IWD event by focusing on self-help groups and women’s empowerment. Activities carried out through the day will consist of educational and awareness raising programmes. A big rally and a poster exhibition on domestic violence, women’s rights and women’s health will also be held.
