On March 11 and 12 Gymnasium Sorghvliet organised a programme for its 2nd grade pupils (age 13). The programme was called Colourful The Hague (Kleurrijk Den Haag) and was about meeting with different cultures and with people from various countries. GHRD made a contribution to this programme in the following ways:
• It introduced the children to issues of human rights. Indra Biseswar, Programme Manager at GHRD, presented the work of GHRD and showed a DVD on the ‘Freedom through Football’ project. The projectis about the rehabilitation of young girls from their traumas inflicted by different forms of violence and exploitation through training in football.
• It invited four migrants to share their experiences, each for a class of 30 pupils.
• GHRD also invited a Bollywood danceschool to give a workshop for the pupils as a festive closing of this programme. The workshop was a huge success: 120 pupils and their teachers danced enthusiastically and became real Bollywood stars for about an hour.
