The past few months GHRD staff has been busy kick starting some amazing events and campaigns! Key highlights include upcoming European lobby tour which will mark GHRD's 10 year anniversary and our local documentary tour and postcard campaign called Postcards for Pakistan: Stamping out injustice one letter at a time.

The September attack on All Saints Church in Peshawar

On 22nd September 2013 a double suicide attack against the all Saints Church in Peshawar claimed the lives of more than 100 worshippers. Around 600 people had attended the Sunday morning service and were leaving to receive food being distributed on the lawn outside when two explosions ripped through the crowd. Read more...

Restoring Land Rights of Indigenous People

On 3rd August 2013 6 Jumma villages in Matiranga-Taindong area were attacked by Bengali settlers. 36 houses at Jumma villages and a Buddhist temple were burnt down.

Bangladesh Elections in Jeopardy

Tension is mounting in Bangladesh over elections to be held by January 2014. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is now calling for strikes and rallies, while also threatening to boycott the elections. GHRD is supporting Bangladeshi civil society through a pre-election and election monitoring project, focusing on minority rights. Read more...
