The Office of the Prime Minister Demands Investigation into Kidnapping of Hindu Girl

After the BIHR/GHRD fact-finding and submission of an urgent appeal regarding the police inaction into the kidnapping of a 14 year old girl, the office of the Prime Minister instructed the Secretary of Home Minister to take necessary actions to ensure the proper investigations into the kidnapping of the Hindu girl. 

De Brug – Magazine for Human Rights

After two years of training and meetings, De Brug, network of migrant associations, presents its first common project: Magazine for Human Rights, will be published in October. The magazine is compiled by the member organisations, and highlights human rights issues in their home countries.

A Documentary on the Slavery of the Third Millennium.

In September, GHRD and Umbrella Film successfully completed its journey to Nepal to shoot a documentary about the sexual trafficking of women from Nepal to India. GHRD, in collaboration with MAITI Nepal and Umbrella Films, is producing the documentary highlighting the inhumane world of human trafficking to raise awareness in India, Nepal and Europe. The film will be presented in December in two different versions. Any income generated by the film will be donated to trafficking prevention and rehabilitation projects in Nepal.

Otranto Legality Experience

In August, GHRD attended the first annual Otranto Legality Experience in Italy OLE 2010 is the first edition of an international forum on “Illegal Economy, Organised Crime and Financial Globalisation” organized by the Flare Network. Read more...
