Universal Children’s Day is held on the 20th November each year to promote international collaboration and awareness among children worldwide. The date marks the day on which the Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. This year Manav Vikash Kendra organized a 4-day long celebration with the focus on the right to education of Musahar Children. The Musahar is a Hindu caste who lives on the margin of society due to India's harsh cast system. The marginalization is especially visible when it comes to development, be it economic growth or social perception
GHRD took part in the event “Exploring Peace and Justice in The Hague”, which was one of the various celebrations occurred for the Just Peace Weekend, 19th to 21st September, in The Hague.
Bangladesh Centre for Human Rights and Development (BCHRD) marked International Day of Peace, 21st September, with series of activities. BCHRD in collaboration with GHRD organized demonstrations followed by conferences in Dhaka and Khulna district to demand justice for the indigenous peoples and religious minorities in Bangladesh.
GHRD marked IDAHOT together with its partner Bandhu Social Welfare Society (BSWS); one of the foremost Bangladeshi organization working on sexual health rights of vulnerable and stigmatized groups. BSWS, in collaboration with GHRD,organised series of activities to celebrate IDAHOT 2014 nationwide.
