The exhibition, entitled Minority Communities and the Human Rights Crisis in Asia, focuses on the persistent and often underreported violations faced by religious and ethnic minorities across the region. It documents the situations of the Ahmadiyya, Christian, Sindhi, and Baloch communities in Pakistan; the Tamil community in Sri Lanka; the Kashmiri people; communities in Bangladesh; and the Uyghur and Falun Gong groups in China.
Drawing on first-hand testimonies, photographic documentation, and verified case studies, the exhibition examines recurring patterns of discrimination, enforced disappearances, restrictions on freedom of religion or belief, and the systematic marginalisation of communities whose experiences rarely reach international forums.
The initiative is designed to complement the Council’s ongoing deliberations by providing delegates, diplomats, civil society representatives, and accredited visitors with direct access to documented evidence and personal accounts. GHRD believes that visibility is a precondition for accountability, and that the Human Rights Council remains a critical space for ensuring that the voices of marginalised communities are heard.
GHRD welcomes all those attending the 62nd session to visit the exhibition at the Palais des Nations between 22 and 24 June 2026 and to engage with the communities and cases presented.
