Meet the team

My name is Chiara, and I am the Middle East and Africa Team Coordinator at GHRD. After studying Interpreting, I turned to International Human Rights Law, aiming to bring my cultural and linguistic skills to the service of people who are left behind. At GHRD, I coordinate research and advocacy projects on civic space, political prisoners, and the rights of ethnic, religious, and LGBTI groups, as well as migrants and other unconventional minorities across the Middle East and Africa. What I love most about my work is that it connects field realities with international advocacy – linking people who don’t have a voice with those in positions of power to create change. From documenting rights violations to seeing these issues discussed at the UN or the EU, every day I learn from the people I work with and from the stories we strive to bring to light.
