Meet the team

My name is Salome Svanidze, and I am originally from Georgia. I hold a law degree from Tbilisi State University and a Master of Arts in EU Studies from the Institute for European Studies (IES). I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Rights Policy and Practice, offered jointly by a consortium of universities: the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), Universidad de Deusto (Spain), the University of Roehampton (UK), and the Arctic University of Norway. I have several years of experience in the NGO sector, where I have held multiple roles focusing on the integration of ethnic and religious minorities. This work has strengthened my interest in minority rights, social inclusion, and human rights advocacy. In May 2025, I joined GHRD as an Editorial Intern in a very friendly, supportive, and encouraging environment. I now serve as the Editing and Approvals Team Lead. In this role, we review written pieces on human rights issues on various topics and help make them more coherent and accessible to readers.
