On November 21, 2024, Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) hosted the 4th edition of The
Hague Human Rights Film Festival, with a central focus on “Children’s Rights.” Held at
Bioscoop Buitenhof, the festival featured seven impactful films, each carefully selected by an
independent jury for their powerful storytelling and relevance to global child rights issues. The screenings addressed urgent themes such as: Access to education and healthcare, Child
labor and exploitation, The effects of armed conflict and displacement, Children’s role in
climate justice and sustainable futures. Each screening was followed by a panel discussion attended by leading experts on children’s rights and youth advocates. Notably, one of the panelists was a senior official from the United Nations New York (UNNY) specializing in children’s rights. These discussions provided a platform for cross-sector dialogue, policy critique, and audience engagement and further reinforced GHRD’s commitment to child advocacy through art and dialogue.
